Initially, a brand and marketing audit was undertaken to get a true picture of where Koyo stood in the marketplace. As a Japanese company, they had a lot of marketing collateral that was not designed for the UK market as it focused on features of the bearings that shouted “I’m a me-too product”.

To raise the profile of the quality of Koyo products we developed “The Benchmark in Bearings” as the central message for a UK 12-month advertising campaign that showcased the benefits of the product in a number of applications and sectors. This was also supported by a digital campaign to include email to the target audience via trade press contacts such as engineers and specifiers together with online advertising.

Solution

To kick off this innovative product, a launch strategy was created, which included positioning of the product as unique with non-spill technology aimed at the DIY diesel driver. The key benefits of this product was the ease of use and availability online, these were applied to all marketing collateral.

A new e-commerce website was built, incorporating an impactful video educating the consumer. Promotional activity was all online and included search engine optimisation and online marketing platforms, including Google Shopping, Google Display and Google AdWords.

Hayter partnered with Beach to launch an innovative UK online brand and marketing portal.
The portal supports the retailers with a simple-to-use online toolkit to access the latest Hayter branded sales and marketing materials.

Using Reef, our leading-edge Brand portal technology, retailers are able to design their own bespoke lead generation and brand awareness marketing collateral using a series of eye-catching branded templates beach set up.

Innovative in its design and with user-friendly functionality, The Hayter Marketing Toolbox, supports the company’s channel partners with a huge range of Hayter branded and co-branded items. Lead generation assets such as trade adverts and direct mail pieces can be set up in minutes without any marketing knowledge or skill whilst giving an ultra-professional feel. Printed collateral including brochures, catalogues, product datasheets and stationery as well as promotional merchandise are also available.

Retailers can download, PDFs of product datasheets and brochures, logos, product images and corporate identity guidelines. Almost any element of marketing activity can be made available in just a few clicks.

Many clothing items such as fleeces, overalls, trousers, caps, hats can be ordered by te retailers to give all staff a professional consistent look in store

Their Dealer network of approximately 150 Retailers over the UK needed help with accessing all the Hayter marketing collateral, point of sale, clothing and other marketing support. The handling hundreds of such requests was eating up a lot of staff time with routine laborious administration tasks. The marketing team realised they could benefit from automating the process with an online ordering system.

Developing a brand identity for the magazine was a vital first step, so we started by working up some brand concepts that included giving the magazine a name that would resonate with staff. The name Communibake was the chosen concept that combined “Communication” with “Unibake” and this provided a successful level of ownership with the team.

Without the in-house resource to publish the magazine, Beach project manage two issues of the new magazine each year. We oversee the entire publication from end to end in line with key corporate messages from the 2020 Vision. Planning layout, organising photography and scheduling production is a challenge when trying to fit in with staff workloads but is one we relish as the people at Lantmannen Unibake UK are focused and great to deal with.

The key objective was to encourage staff engagement from the factory floor and to Management. The campaign deliverables included new graphics placed throughout the country offices, a teaser campaign “Viggo is Coming” leading up to the company wide one-day event that used fun marketing collateral such as die-cut beards, balloons, bunting and cake designs to ensure all the staff engaged.

Staff were encouraged to use social media to post images of their participation on the day. A coffee table brochure was designed and printed after the event that recorded the day with photos and social media posts from each participating country so that Viggo Day could be shared with partners and internal colleagues around the world.

After the review and mapping exercise, we identified 16 different components that could be improved for the customer journey to be enriched with faster access to the relevant information required for the key scenarios identified.

A 32 page report was presented to the Digital Marketing Manager clearly highlighting the recommendations which were very well received. Of the key recommendations, NHBC are now busy incorporating them into the overall web build for that richer user experience needed to ensure they stay as the number 1 warrany provider for new homes in the UK.

Having already developed their website in WordPress a few years previously an overhaul of the brand was needed. We set to work with developing an improved customer journey that enabled visitors to gain all the information they needed to make a decision and with stronger calls to action to drive sign up to Welcome Anywhere.

A custom calculator was developed to enable visitors to quickly work out the costs of the system based on the number of rooms they had.
We then reskinned the website with a more contemporary brand look and feel to reflect the changes in the company.

The offices were also furnished with matching graphics to welcome visitors and partners as well as to bring internal staff on board with the new look and messaging.
